1.1 Statistical Tables
These are the classical statistical tables that are commonly used in introductory probability and statistics courses. Although statistical software can compute these quantities instantly, understanding how to read these tables remains an important skill.
TipStandard Normal Distribution (Z Table)
The Z table gives cumulative probabilities
\[ \Phi(z)=P(Z\le z), \qquad Z\sim N(0,1). \]
It is mainly used to compute probabilities and critical values for the normal distribution.
